Family Office Compensation Estimator
Estimate base salary and total pay ranges for common single family office roles, based on the pay ranges in The Single Family Office and the size of the office. Free, no login, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

How the Calculator Works
The Single Family Office puts top family office executives at a $200,000 to $400,000 base salary with a performance bonus, and junior to mid-level professionals at $50,000 to $125,000. The estimator places your role inside its range by office size: offices under $250 million sit in the lower half, $250 million to $1 billion in the middle, and $1 billion and above in the upper half. A city factor adjusts for cost of living, and your bonus inputs give total pay.
Carried interest or co-investment rights are not included. They are common for senior investment staff and are covered in our answer on bonuses and carried interest.

Questions About This Calculator
Why are the ranges wide?
Family offices vary a lot in size, scope and how they pay. A $100 million office with one generalist pays differently from a $2 billion office with a full investment team.
Should family members be paid market rates?
Most families we work with pay market rates for real roles. See our answer on whether family members should work in the family office.
